I am honored to be your next Mayor of Vallejo.
Friends,
Today’s batch of results expanded our lead to 389 votes. While there are still some provisional and mail-in ballots remaining to be counted, it is becoming clear that we have won this race!
I am so honored to have the confidence of Vallejo voters to be your next Mayor, and I will do everything in my power to live up to and exceed your expectations.
This race was about many things — public safety that works for everyone, housing everyone can afford, and rejecting special interest influence. But most of all, this race was about our community and our shared values of integrity, accountability, and inclusion. Our victory is a testament to the power of the people, and as your Mayor, I will always put the people first. The only special interest I serve is our community.
This was a grassroots campaign and we could not have won without your tireless support. You showed up in force and knocked doors, hosted and attended events, spread the word to friends and family, and donated your hard-earned money to help us win. I cannot thank each and every one of you enough for the effort you put in.
Now, as I transition into my new role as Mayor and the hard work begins, I will need your help. Please, stay active, stay informed, and stay engaged. Local politics can be slow, it can be frustrating, and it can be tiring. But change takes a village and I will need you by my side as we take on the challenges that lie ahead.
This was a hard-fought campaign and I thank Pippin Dew, Dwight Monroe Jr., and Ravi Shankar for their service to our community and dedication to making Vallejo better. I look forward to being a Mayor for all Vallejoans, regardless of who they voted for in this election. We are stronger together, and I will fight to ensure we have a government that is inclusive and responsive to everyone in our community.
This has been an incredible journey and I am grateful to everyone I have met along the way. I look forward to serving you these next four years.
With deep gratitude,
Andrea Sorce
Vallejo Mayor-Elect
